Unlike other anti-aging serums, this innovative formula prevents muscular movements in the face that cause the formation of wrinkles on the skin. To be honest, I had never heard of a skincare product being able to do that which got me really intrigued. This serum‘s star ingredient is Argireline™, an amino acid that has the ability to relax facial muscles and thus prevent wrinkle creasings from forming on the skin. Added to this, this serum also contains hydrating and antioxidant properties for plump and radiant skin.

Argireline™ 10%
Argireline™ also known as peptide acetyl hexapeptide-3 is a synthetic peptide, that has various anti-wrinkle and anti-aging properties. Unlike other peptides, Argireline™ has the ability to disrupt muscle communication, this prevents the movements of muscles in the skin responsible for dynamic or expression wrinkles i.e. forehead creasing, cross feet, or fine lines around the mouth. This peptide is known to deliver anti-aging results close to that of Botulinum Toxin, promotes collagen production for smooth skin, and improves moisture in the skin.
Vita-Polypeptide

Fig Fruit Extract

Heartleaf Extract
Heart leaf extract has been used for centuries in both Korean and Chinese traditional medicine before becoming popular in skincare. This active is known to be a potent antioxidant that protects the skin from aggressions and fights signs of skin aging. It also has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that contribute to maintaining skin health.
My Experience with the Depology Argireline™ Peptide Serum
I received the Argireline™ peptide serum at a point where my skin barrier was impaired which was kind of ideal for me. Peptides are great for skin barrier repair as they rebuild the skin’s lipid layers. Prior to use my skin was very dry, bumpy, dull, and felt very irritated. I used this serum twice a day alongside a gentle cleanser and a soothing moisturizer.
The serum was very light on my skin and absorbed very fast without irritating my already sensitive skin. 3 drops were enough to cover my face and the first thing I noticed was how hydrating this serum is.
After 2 weeks of use my skin was significantly more plump, and my and its texture was smoother. Did my wrinkles go away? Well, 2 weeks is too short for an honest response but the improvement in my skin’s plumpiness is a sign that over time this serum will deliver even better results.
The Depology Deepcare+ Serum-Infused Micro Dart Patches
Of the two products I received, the Depology Micro Dart under eye patches is what piqued my interest the most. Imagine the combination of an eye mask and micro-needles. These eye patches unlike silicon and hydrogel eye patches are not covered in serum. The part that comes in contact with the under eye area has tiny micro darts that just like micro needles cause micro injuries to the skin. This, in turn, triggers the skin’s healing process while infusing the skin with anti-aging actives like hyaluronic acid, Argireline, various amino acids, and trehalose. The result guaranteed is more hydrated, glowing, and plumper skin.
In addition to this delivery through micro darts has other benefits on the skin such as improving skin texture, and scars, brightening, and evening the skin tone.
Star Ingredients in the Depology Deepcare+ Serum-Infused Micro Dart Patches
Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid is a strong humectant that draws moisture in the skin and binds water to collagen for more plump, and hydrated skin. This action helps prevent and get rid of wrinkles and fine lines. This humectant is infused into the skin via microneedles and helps boost collagen in the skin.
Amino Acids
Amino acids make the building block of the skin’s matrix and are necessary for various skin functions such as collagen production, and water retention.
Peptides
The Depology micro-needling eye patches contain a blend of peptides (Argireline™, Lysine Polypeptide, Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4) that boost collagen production, increase skin water retention, and result in firmer and more plump skin. This is ideal for people with crow's feet around the eyes, dark circles, and expression wrinkles.
Adenosine
Adenosine is an anti-wrinkle agent that has the ability to boost collagen production by stimulating the formation of fibroblasts (cells that secrete collagen in the skin) which helps improve the appearance of wrinkles.
Trehalose
Trehalose is a sugar that has both moisturizing and antioxidant properties. It is used in skincare for its capacity to reduce stress on skin caused by UV exposure and free radicals which are the principal cause of skin aging.
My Experience with the Depology Deepcare+ Serum Micro Dart Patches
Using these eye patches felt like receiving a home microneedling session and at first was jarring but I loved it I was gifted with two packs of 4 pairs each (i.e. 16 patches) and at the time of this review I have used 4 pairs.
The directions require applying the patches on clean and dry skin for a minimum of 2 hours or overnight for best results every 2-3 days. I wore them for both 2hrs and overnight and was so surprised at how the glue on this stuff holds. it literally griped to my skin and stayed on for a full night which is very impressive.
After wearing the patches I lightly pressed the area with the micro darts into my skin which was not painful at all. After taking them off, my under-eye area did feel more hydrated than the rest of my skin and slightly more plump. Honestly, this was faster than most eye creams I have used in the best and a million times less messy than regular hydrogen eye masks. See pictures.
Although the pictures attached above of the results do not show a drastic change, I promise you it did improve the firmness of my under eye area which appeared plumper (you see my under eyes are less sunken in the second picture) and I am sure but the time I’ll be done with the 8 pairs my under eye area will definitely look better (so stick around for an update in a few weeks).
Final Thoughts
Honestly discovering the Depology brand was such a positive experience and their formulations are quite different from what I am used to. The Depology Peptide Complex 10% Serum with Argireline™ was really impressive with the way it plumped up my skin and helped improve my skin texture.
It’s one of the most promising anti-aging products I have tried so far in my skincare journey and this will pair really well with retinol. I see myself using this more often for skin prep before makeup since I have smile lines that cause my foundation to crease a lot. this serum will definitely stay in my routine for a while.
Using the Depology Deep+Care Serum Micro Dart Patches really felt like a spa session at home. The technology behind these eye patches really stood out for me and the delivery was unlike anything I have ever seen before. My under-eye area felt more hydrated and plump after using 4 pairs of Micro Dart which is the fastest result I have ever gotten from an under-eye serum I can wait for patches and I really like the fact they aren’t messy to use and stick for a really long time.
