Exfoliating my body is something I take very seriously because of how rough and flaky it tends to get. Right up to 2022, I was a sucker for body scrubs and while there are great, they can be very messy to use. Unfortunately, this product did not last long in my routine because I had an allergic reaction to an ingredient. Honestly, I should have picked up on that before purchasing by checking the INCI list (this is your reminder to always check ). However, I did use the Smoother Glycolic acid body wash long enough to form an opinion about it which can still be helpful.
This cleanser blends 4 AHAs to smoothen and soften as well as hydrating ingredients to nourish the skin. Although I am allergic to lactic acid, I used this product 2x a week for 4 weeks and noticed significant changes on parts of my skin that were not covered in allergic bumps. These parts were smoother and looked more hydrated than before.
Despite the irritation, I noticed my skin looked less dull, and had I been able to go through the complete bottle I am convinced it would have drastically improved my skin texture. It comes in a 500ml bottle and has a luxurious feel with a mild lather. It rinses off nicely without drying the skin.

Drawbacks
It doesn’t come in a travel size to free up space in the luggage.
Re-locking the pump will cause you to waste a good amount of product, it took so many tries
Final Thoughts
On a scale of 1 to 10, I will rate Naturium’s Smoother Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Body Wash 7/10. It sticks to its claims and is a great body exfoliant that softens, hydrates and smoothens the skin. However, as a stand-alone body hyperpigmentation treatment, it will not suffice. Especially pigmentation beneath the skin’s top layers, like old acne or wound scars. It is best not to use this product with other exfoliants or other strong acids if you have sensitive skin.
